Equestrian Qualifications (GB) Ltd
Equestrian Qualifications GB Limited (EQL) is a subsidiary company of The British Horse Society but stands alone in its remit to award equestrian qualifications.
EQL is an Awarding Body accredited by Ofqual and, as such, must comply with a range of criteria, including robust assurance for developing and awarding qualifications. In 2007 The British Horse Society re-branded its qualifications under the new Awarding Body name. The name change and re-brand provide a clear division between The BHS and the Awarding Body. You will notice, for instance, that the prefix for the Awarding Body has changed from BHS to EQL and most of the certificates we award are also pre-fixed with EQL. The BHS logo still appears on the certificates but not as prominently as before.
EQL awards qualifications on behalf of The BHS and the British Equestrian Federation. We also award Scottish Vocational Qualifications, Work Based Diplomas and Equestrian Tourism Qualifications.
